This image shows the peripheral blood of a patient with idiopathic myelofibrosis (MF) transforming to acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The megakaryocyte has lysed, revealing the nucleus in the center of the image, with remnants of cytoplasm to the left. A giant platelet is also present above.
