Lymphocyte inclusion in Chediak-Higashi syndrome

These patients are at increased risk for infection and have decrease NK cell function and impaired platelet function.

This image is included to emphasize that the cytoplasmic inclusions which are typically noted in the neutrophils, monocytes and lymphocytes may not be seen in all cells of the same lineage on a patient’s peripheral smear. In this case, only one of the two lymphocytes present in this view has the characteristic inclusion.
